Bringing complex academic ideas to life through illustration

Created for an academic paper exploring the concept of “Empowered Isolation”, this project transformed complex ideas around school leadership, authority, ethics and systemic pressures into a clear and engaging visual narrative.

Using the metaphor of a captain navigating contested waters, we developed a series of bespoke illustrations that communicate key themes throughout the research. A consistent visual language, carefully considered symbolism and editorial-style layouts bring the academic content to life while retaining the credibility and clarity required for a scholarly publication.
