The design journey for Hood Photography’s website was a poetic exploration into the captivating realms of landscapes and portraiture. My mission was not just to create a website but to craft a digital gallery that resonates with the soul-stirring beauty captured by Hood Photography’s lens.
Before the first pixel was placed, I delved into conversations with Hood Photography—a photographer with a passion for capturing the essence of both expansive landscapes and intimate portraiture. This understanding became the heartbeat of the design—a commitment to creating a digital space where each image could breathe and tell its own story.
The chosen brand colour—black—was not just a visual choice; it was a canvas. Black symbolises the void waiting to be filled with the richness of visual narratives. It’s the backdrop that allows the landscapes to unfold in their grandeur and the portraits to reveal their soulful depth. Black became the silent partner, letting the photography take centre stage.
In typography, clean lines and classic elegance were chosen to frame the visual narrative. The font selection was deliberate—Sans Serif for a modern touch, ensuring readability and clarity. The typography was designed to be unobtrusive, guiding visitors through the visual journey without overshadowing the artistry of Hood Photography’s portfolio.
Creating an intuitive and user-friendly navigation experience was paramount. The website structure was meticulously crafted to guide visitors through the diverse portfolio of landscapes and portraiture.
